8612 – [6 of 6] Fruits of Removing Self from the Five Khandhas
In the final talk of this series, Buddhadāsa Bhikkhu tells us about the benefits of pulling out the self from attachment to the five khandhas. He adds that even though we don’t have direct realization of the goal yet, by studying it we develop an understanding that gets us pointed in the right direction so we know where we’re headed, which will save us a great deal of time and energy. When we are able to end attachment to the five khandhas, we say that ‘We are released from the prison of life.’ Lastly he details 22 benefits or fruits from accomplishing this.
This Dhamma teaching was offered by Tan Ajahn on 8th December 1986.
