8812 – [5 of 7] Ceasing of Paṭicca-samuppāda
Buddhadāsa Bhikkhu states that by regulating or controlling of paṭiccasamuppāda, then there arises paticcanirodha, which is the quenching or ceasing of the paṭiccasamuppāda. He encourages us to listen carefully because nothing is more profound and more difficult to understand than paṭiccasamuppāda. Understanding paṭiccasamuppāda destroys the belief in ‘self’ and therefore gets rid of suffering. He warns of ways that book knowledge can mislead us, and clarifies what ‘rebirth’ really is.
This Dhamma teaching was offered by Tan Ajahn on 5th December 1988.
