8901 – [2 of 7] Meaning of ‘Ariya-sacca’
Buddhadāsa Bhikkhu carefully describes the meaning of Ariya-sacca and how the first two Noble Truths correspond to the Dependent Origination of Suffering and the second two Noble Truths correspond to the Dependent Cessation of Suffering. He states that dukkha is our enemy and describes its aspects in detail, including how lovely and attractive things have tremendous power over us, then deceive us. And because all dukkha is attaching to the five aggregates of life, the khandas, he encourages us to understand them, to see them clearly.
This Dhamma teaching was offered by Tan Ajahn on 7th January 1989.
